Does Radiant Vault ever connect to the internet?+
Not by default, and not unless you choose to. Out of the box there's no cloud service behind it, no telemetry, and no update server it quietly phones home to, every model and reference runs on the hardware in front of you. An optional network card add-on exists for people who specifically want it (see the next question); it changes nothing about how the device behaves until you install it.
What's the difference between the four AI tiers?+
Every tier ships the exact same knowledge library. What scales is the AI itself: model size, response speed, and how much nuance it can hold in an answer. Cache is a fast everyday lookup tool, Citadel is closer to a full research partner.

Yes. An optional network card add-on lets you connect your unit to the internet, for software updates, email, or anything else you'd normally use a connection for. It's entirely your call: the device works completely offline whether or not you ever install it, and the core AI and library never require a connection to function.
How current is the offline knowledge library?+
Each unit ships with a dated snapshot of its full reference library: encyclopedia, maps, medical and emergency references, and education content. Optional offline-media updates let you refresh it later without ever connecting the device itself.
Can I upgrade a unit after I buy it?+
Yes. Storage and memory are user-serviceable across all tiers, and Citadel accepts the Ultimate GPU upgrade for its largest models.
